I have been to
IOI Boulevard numerous times for drinks since the place opened its doors to the public, so much so that I have taken notice at this particular restaurant there, The Pork Place even without the chance of enjoying a nice dinner there. With such a recognizable name, the thought of having a meal here stuck with me for months and one day when a friend suggested we have dinner around the area, I just made a bee line to this place without even consulting her.
Hehe.
There is a very nice ambiance to the place, so much so that it reminded me of a fine dining restaurant, just that portions are much bigger and of course, budgets are much smaller.
Interestingly enough there is even a butchers' counter in the restaurant so you can get your regular fix of
babi-
ness anytime you want!
After looking through the menu, which at this time has only a limited choice because it was opened only a couple of months ago, I decided on the pork belly steak with cream sauce and my
dinner mate decided on the pork knuckles, with iced cappuccino and iced lemon tea as well. The meal arrived with 15 minutes, which in my books is always a good thing :)
The pork knuckle was crunchy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Served with leafy salads, freshly made mashed potatoes, gravy and mustard on the side was really, really good. The portion is just right for a person, as I suspect they purposed used a smaller piece of knuckle for one person only. The crispy skin was my favorite part, absolutely brilliant this one.
In fact, the skin was so crispy that one piece actually flew off the plate and onto the floor as we are cutting into them.
Niceeeeee :)
My pork belly steak was beyond words. The meat was so tender and juicy that so sauce was even needed! The natural meat sauce
ozzes out with I cut it open and yet, the gravy was simply divine! The slightly salty sauce and the sweet juicy meat was a match made in heaven, and I would definitely recommend this dish for those who has a great appetite for good, honest food!
Price is quite reasonable here. Our meal set us back about RM80, complete with drinks and all. Oh and they serve German beers here as well :D
Here's a map of
