Monopoly Card Game Night

This is what i did for merdeka eve...

played monopoly card game at a friends place.

Its not that i am not a patriotic person nor i hate crowded places...its just that...i am freaking broke this month...its cheaper to stay at a friends place drinking cheap beer & eating cheap snacks.

Monopoly card game is an alternate version of the original board game. The idea of the game is to basically sort out your cards according to their own categories or colours, and when you have a complete sets of "colours", you are declared the winner. And of course, poke fun at your fellow players using wild card at the meantime, hoping that your friends would be turned into KokWai as shown in the videos below. You are required to do a victory dance once you've won a round, demonstrated by me in the video below.

Wikipedia would have done a better job at explaining the game here or better yet, invite me to your game XD

Warning: This game is dangerous addictive...play at own risk!

Here are just SOME examples of the game situation:

Small intro & normal game enviroment...plus some alcohol influence

Heres an example of the winning dance...remember this dance is compulsory if you wanna win okay...

And here...this is how you MIGHT look like when you lose...more than 10 times in a row

But then...god is fair...this is when he won ( we played for 2 days and he won once)

For your information, this game is good by itself...but if u want a GREAT game...drink this BEAR BEER, available at your nearest KK supermart, 99 Supermart, Econsave or el-cheapo Kedai Runcit.

Seriously, this shit can brighten up any party or gathering. RM6 each with 12% alcohol...origins suspiciously unknown...scared or not? haha

Anyways, Doggyjames would like to wish everyone Happy Merdeka Day!!! and happy 52nd Birthday to Malaysia!

Very Unique Merdeka Video

This is a very unique merdeka video on youtube...yes there is a hype on with the 15Malaysia video thingy which, by the way i think its great...but this one below would beat 15malaysia flat i reckon

enjoy..and erm...its better if u stand when watching this video

Bibiwok BBQ & Steamboat, Puchong

It was my last day at my company today and all the young people I am close with at work decided a farewell dinner was in order. It was decided we have it at Bibiwok Puchong, as the place was highly recommended by Rebecca (the one i dump all my work to XD).

Located in the food haven of Bandar Puteri Puchong, The place dons a very nice & modern outlook for a steamboat buffet place. The place reminds you of its heavy Thai influence as the moment we walk into the restaurant, there are endless statues & paintings of That origins. Personally, I feel that this is one of the best steamboat & BBQ buffet places I've ever been to. Just to add, the restaurant is divided into the ala carte section, located at the G level and the buffet section, located at the 1st floor.

This is pretty much a straight forward Buffet place with those ala carte concept. After sitting down, just let the waitress know what kinda dish you like and they will bring it out for you in a nice basket. They have both chicken broth & tomyum soup here, Insist on the tomyum...its el-fantastico! Very authentic and HOT! The BBQ is done in a very special way here, A piece of banana leaf was used and the result is not as many charred black foodstuff coming out. The banana leaf adds a nice fragrance to the food as well.

Do order the beef & fish when you are here. The white fish is really fresh and after grilling them for less than a minute, the taste is really superb. The beef is very well marinated and requires only a minute of fast grilling. The juice are all kept in and wow, really explodes in your mouth!

They serve duck breast here as well. Really good. The slices of duck are all very juicy, and very well marinated. Just left them on the grill for about 2 minutes as they release their oh-so-wonderful juices and aroma, you are bound to have an orgasmic experience in your mouth.

The food just kept on coming. The service was a little bit slow but all understandable as there were only about 3-4 workers serving the whole floor, and all of them were foreign workers who can't speak good English, Chinese, Malay or Indian. They were however quite generous with their portion and foodstuff. It took us more than 2 hours to finish every thing...and we have ice cream & ABC for dessert as well.

The bill came to about RM300 for the 10 of us including drinks. Yes, drinks are charged separately here. The buffet for 1 person is about RM28 if I was not mistaken (I didn't have to pay you see...hehehe). All in all it was a very good experience, especially when you have a really good bunch of friends like the people I makaned with here! ;D

Here is a map & details of the place for you readers. It is located in Bandar Puteri Puchong opposite Giant Supermarket, near Public Bank.

F4 Steamed Fish Head, USJ 1

Good food can be found everywhere, from the darkest walk paths of old Kl, to the trendiest shopping centres. And good food is often shy, hiding among unsuspecting surroundings everywhere. F4 Steamed Fish Head is one of those little surprises you wouldn't expect in the middle of an industrial area.

It is a little bit hard to spot this place, even for me who visited the places a few times prior to this. If you are able to, then you are in luck. This place serves one of the freshest & yummiest steamed fish heads in town. It might not look much on the outside, but the food is really good.

modest settings

We ordered the star dish of the day, steamed fish head with fermented soy bean sauce. I do not know what kind of fish they use, but it was very very fresh and tasty. Not even a hint of fishiness or those "mud taste", as i am quite certain it was a fresh water fish, maybe a carp? The sauce goes perfectly with the fish, the aromatic & saltiness compliments extremely well with the subtle freshness of the fish. Really really good!

so freshhhhhhhhhhh

We tried something new that day - Hakka style pork. Not really sure why is this called hakka style, its like a pork stew covered in a combination of soy sauce & fermented soy sauce. The meat of nice & tender, the sauce was a little too salty for my liking, but goes well with white rice.

hakka style pork

The deep fried squid with salted egg was another winner. The crispiness of the fried squid and saltiness of the salted egg was like a match made in heaven. So good we simply had to order another plate.

mummy says eat more evge..so ofcoz we had to order veg

A very good meal indeed. The bill came to less than RM80, would say this is really a value for money place. Food were so good they earned Eric's thumbs up as per shown in the pictures below.

Sam You Chinese Restaurant, Petaling Jaya

Sam You is a really old & famous Chinese restaurant located in PJ new town. Apparently my parents used to bring me & my sis there all the time when we were still kids, I however had completely forgotten about it lol. Dad was in the mood for a full-on Chinese dinner one fine weekend and we were hanging around PJ, so off we went to visit this place in search of old memories.

The restaurant looks like any other old school Chinese restaurants in the country. Big with a lot of seats cramped inside, doing weeding receptions & old folks' birthdays all the time. The environment is nice and cozy, quiet too as we arrived about 5.30pm.

inside

We ordered 4 dishes in total. The first dish is the Seafood Pot. A concoction of different seafood: sea cucumber, abalone, fish & fuu chuk slowly cooked in a claypot. This dish would easily be the best dish of the night. The essence of all the ingredients totally matched one another, and as an outcome the sauce, which I suspect is cooked with chicken broth came out totally amazing. The seafood were very fresh and nice and the best thing...this dish cost only RM32...abalone for RM32 mannnnnnn where to find???

awesome seafood pot!

The second dish was rather unconventional and rather innovative in my mind. Fried chicken stuffed with yam. The Crispy chicken & yam are truly a match made in heaven. Contrasting textures may not work all the time, but this dish is truly ingeniously perfect! Truly a piece of art this one.

i admit this is soooooooo much better than KFC

tell me you are not hungry already hehe

We ordered the homestyle tofu as our vege option for the night. Good & smooth texture, blends very nicely with the fuu chuk & greens that came with it. The taste however was a little blend for my liking. Nonetheless this is still a "pass" dish in my books.

homemade tofu...its passable...

The star of the night, despite the abalone, was the humble ol' steamed fish. I believe they used garoupa or some other familiar type of sea fish for this. The portion was just right and the meat, oh my god so freaking fantastic! Freshness! I swear I have not had fish this good for quite a long time now. The meat was cooked to perfection with light favours e.g. soy, ginger & sesame oil and the sauce....oh lala~~~I ordered another bowl of rice just to eat with the sauce. A must try dish here.

OMG freaking wonderful steamed fish...only RM16!!!

We had the herbal jelly & peanut stew for dessert. Okay at best, wouldn't say their dessert is excellent. But then that might be because the mains were too awesome XD

herbal jelly

The bill came to RM104...not too bad in my eyes for quite a grand meal. Will be back again very very soon!

Perhentian Island Vacation

For those who know me personally, you would have known that i am in a really stressful ball-busting line of work (marketing...not selling balls). So before i am hospitalized for overstressed...a nice little holiday was needed. Perhentian Island was chosen as the destination simply because its beauty is just legendary. Plus, it is still considered underdeveloped so it would be a very spot for anyone to just relax and escape from the hustle & bustle of the city life.

Me & a few friends decided to share this holiday together. And on a nice gloomy Friday morning, we were off to Kota Bahru via Air Asia. It took us a good 2.5 hours journey plus van to the jetty before we could even see the place.

Boy was the trip worth it. I instantly felt energised the moment we stepped on the white sand beach...smelling the freshesh air I've ever breath in and just looking at the crystal blue sea...We choose to stay in this resort, which really is a wooden hut with air cond...exactly what we wanted. Nothing to remind us to the busy city life, just simple living & enjoying the serenity there (not to mentioned RM5 worth of mineral water bottles).

Perhentian Island is famous for its clean, clear seawater & wonder underwater life. Naturally we had to go for its snorkeling trips. The package includes an around-the-island snorkeling trip to 2 coral spots, a turtle spot & a sharks spot. IT WAS WONDERFUL. To be frank I have a little bit of underwater-phobia after a personal encounter with a great white in Aussieland...but after some encouragement from my friends & internal battle, i jump straight in. Simply awesome...the only regret i had was not having an underwater camera. The corals, although not much, was absolutely gorgeous...you would somehow have a sense of peacefulness when your in the water, looking at the sea life below and just listening to nothing at all...Here are the photos from my snorkeling adventure...

The stretch of beach we were at had quite a number of independent cafes & restaurants selling your normal dose of cold drinks & kampung style food. Lots of foreigners hanging around there. We decided to hide in one of those places which, turned out to be a very good photo taking spot.

Dinner was covered by the resort, and it was very nice of them to provide a full BBQ buffet for us. The seafood was very fresh and compliments to the chefs for their efforts. Noticed I didn't take any food photos...I was pretty drunk after taking full advantage of their RM10-per bottle beers...hehehe...nonetheless it was a very relaxing experience...sitting under the stars ans just enjoying our meal...without a worry in the world at all...

The resort offered a very nice jungle tracking experience for us...twice a day. One before dinner time & the other for sunrise. The walk up was tiring but not a problem for yours truely...lolz...yea I was panting like a bull but the view at the end was magnificent. I have lost words for it so I'll just let the photos do the talking...Don't these photos make you wanna move to the beach right away...?

And...whats a trip to a beautifully peaceful island without some stupid camwhore experiences? :)

Perhentian Island is really a fantastic place to just have some much needed R&R for us city people. And its not that expensive as well...a RM100 per night resort would be more than enough for you to stay in, with their own beaches and very good basic facilities. Don't expect The Four Seasons Hotel but really, this is so much better than those 5 star hotels.

Go. Indulge yourselves.

Doggyjames says....well...nothing to say really. No words seem to give justice to this beautiful little island...it is just...magnificent.

Oh by the way...expect at least 2 weeks of being the blackest among your friends after your Perhentian trip. Heres a photo of me & another friend who went to a different Perhentian trip among our white white friends. Advise? Use ALOT of sunscreen.
