Plan B, Bangsar Village 1

Plan B is one of the hottest restaurants in Bangsar currently, and it is easy to see why. I was there recently for a quiet dinner after an event with a friend and she suggested we have dinner there, which is fine by me as I have never been there before despite all the hype.

Set in Bangsar Village I, Plan B was packed when we got there. We were lucky to grab a table without waiting as a couple was just leaving when we got there. I like the decos and the overall feel of the place, looks really sophisticated yet comfortable.

Food was prepared and served really fast over here, which never fails to get my thumbs up. The first dish to arrive was the ceasar salad (RM 18) without any add ons. You can choose to add on grilled chicken or smoked salmon, but my dinner date insisted we try it as is. And how right she was. The poached egg was perfect as the runny yolks provided a really nice background to the sale, which has freshly grated parmesan cheese, anchovies and crispy beef stripes. Everything complimented each other and this is definitely one of the best ceasar salads I've had.

I ordered the beef tongue sandwich (RM18), which I was surprised to find here. Beef tongue is one of the best cuts of a cow for me, as the texture is soft yet chewy, and incredibly beefy. The beef tongue here was exactly that, and did not fall under my expectations at all. A prefect match with horseradish and mustard. Sweet potato chips and pickled cucumbers which came with it added a nice touch to the whole dish.

The Moroccan Lamb Meatballs Spaghetti (RM19) was good as well, though I prefer my spaghetti to be done al-dante. Over here, its the standard al-Asian - the pasta was overcooked and too soft for me. The meatballs however was a work of art for me, it was juicy, well cooked with a hint of cumin, cinnamon and other various spices which works harmoniously in the mouth. The smoked eggplants were fantastic too!

Price wise, I think it's one of the best value for money places in town. All 3 dishes we had today did not even exceed RM20 and yet they taste tremendously well. Do try the cakes here as well as I heard they were extremely well.

Here's a map of Bangsar Village I for you readers. Plan B is located at the G floor of BV1, next to Starbucks.
